Who they are:

Donnie Vercher (owner of Daddy D’s Southern Style BBQ) and his family started Dream for Life Outreach to help secure the basic needs of people (food, clothing, shelter & the spiritual purpose of humanity) in our community. The non-profit was started in 2012 by feeding people out the backdoor. Now it has grown to feed thousands of people each year.

“I don’t want to be known for BBQ, I want to be known for humanity and what I’ve done for people.”

Mission:

“We provide more than just a meal, as we seek to uplift the spirit of humanity.”

“We seek to bring Light in the darkest hours of those in need…”

What they do:

Currently they cook Thanksgiving meals for those in need and have an adopt-a-family program during the holidays where they fulfill wishes for children and serve a Christmas dinner.

Looking ahead:

Dream for Life has far beyond exceeded their parking lot space to serve the community and are able to use Grace Church (Woodland) and Living Hope Church (Vancouver) once a year but want to open a facility that can serve 365 days a year, Project 365. They strive to help people more than just during the holidays. Dream for Life has a calling to help people with food, community, clothing, jobs and health issues by drawing the community in to build-up those who are going through the darkest times.

“Our mission is to bring Our Community Together, Uplift and Empower their Spirit, by giving Hope and a Smile through the Grace & Glory of God!”

Ways You Can Help:

You can click here to set-up an annually, monthly or one-time donation, it takes just $25 to supply a person in need with a daily meal. You can also volunteer by contacting Dream For Life through their Facebook page.
